The Real Sparkly Shirt

I found this shirt on sale at Zara. It was there, on top of a pile of clothes, almost hidden to the eye but not to my boyfriend’s, who found it and after grabbing it he screamed: “Honey! Look what I found!” My eyes brightened up and with a greedy dash, I run to it and immediately head to the fitting room to try it on. After just a few minuted I resurface to ask Matt for advice and that’s when half of the girls standing in line start staring at me with that look almost as if saying “Where did you get it?” “How much does it cost?” “Do you plan on buying it?” “If she doesn’t get it I will!” “Are you sure it’s the last one?” “How could I miss it?”I finally resurface from the fitting room and announce out loud I indeed intend to buy it. I feel bad for the other girls, I really do, but leaving such a cute blouse would have been an even greater fashion crime.

Ho trovato questa maglia in tempo di saldi da Zara, stava li, buttata nel solito mucchio di vestiti, quasi nascosta, ma non all’occhio vigile del mio ragazzo che dopo averla presa mi urla:”Amore! Guarda un po’ che ti ho trovato?” Un luccichio e’ apparso nei miei occhi e con avidita’ l’afferro e corro subito nel camerino per provarla. Dopo pochi minuti esco per chiedere un parere a Matt ed ecco li che quasi meta’ delle ragazze in fila iniziano a fissarmi con quello sguardo che conosco fin troppo bene: “Dove l’hai presa?” “Quanto costa?” “Hai intenzione di prenderla?” “Se non la prende lei la prendo io!” “Sei sicura che e’ l’ultima?” “Ma come ho fatto a non vederla?” Quando riemergo dal camerino, ringrazio e annuncio alle pretendenti che la maglia e’ MIA, e che si ho intenzione di acquistarla. Povere, mi sono sentita veramente in colpa per avergli dato questa brutta notizia, ma lasciarla li sarebbe stato un vero e proprio delitto!
