The First Look of the Year

What’s more obvious than wearing sequins on New Year’s Eve? Nothing really. In reality though, who cares about common preconceptions? I mean, I simply love sequins: they are cool, they sparkle, and since they have been out of fashion for almost two years now, I thought wearing them to welcome the coming of the new year would be the perfect pretext to satisfy my “fashion needs”.

Call me Ms. Obvious, but I paired this green midi skirt with a sequined top I bought almost three years ago in New York but that somehow never got a chance to wear before now. Initially I was going for a plain white shirt, but decided to change things around the last minute and in the end this was the result.

New Year’s Eve in Miami has really exceeded our expectations. After a very nice dinner at an Italian-American restaurant on Ocean Drive (which was brighter and noisier than ever to celebrate the arrival of 2014), as midnight approached we went to the beach to see the amazing fireworks that were set up there to welcome the new year.

I hope you all had an amazing New Year’s Eve night as well, and may this 2014 make all of your dreams become a reality!

Cosa c’e di piú scontato di indossare paillette per capodanno? Poco e niente forse, ma a noi non non frega un tubo, perché le paillettes sono fighe, sbrilluccicano, e visto che purtroppo non vanno piú di moda da ormai due anni a questa parte, avere un pretesto per indossarle é loccasione perfetta per tirare fuori dall’armadio quei capi eccentrici che non aspettano altro che un’occasione speciale per essere indossati.

Chiamatemi Ms. “Banalitá’” ma io ho deciso di indossare questa midi skirt verde acceso con questo top appariscente comprato quasi tre anni fa a New York ma che ancora non avevo avuto modo di mettere. Inizialmente avevo pensato il look con una semplice camicia bianca, magari accostata a degli accessori particolari, ma alla fine ho cambiato e questo é il risultato.

Capodanno a Miami é stato oltre tutte le nostre aspettative: una cena Italo-americana su Ocean Drive, piú luminosa e rumorosa che mai per festeggiare l’arrivo del nuovo anno, e poi di corsa a vedere i fuochi d’artificio sulla spiaggia.

Spero abbiate passato anche voi uno splendido capodanno e che questo 2014 possa fare avverare tutti i vostri propositi!
