Has it ever occurred to you to try to make your significant half understand what it is that you want to receive for a special occasion – like your b-day, Xmas, or some other festivities like that – by any means in order to “address” him to “the rightest choice” and by doing so avoiding yourself a terrible delusion and freeing him from the inevitable burden of having let down his shopping maniac of a girlfriend in such a miserable way? Well, this is exactly what I did this past Valentine’s day. I had been laying my two eyes on the sexiest Victoria’s Secret set for weeks already, and since Valentine’s Day was just around the corner I decided to use any legal and illegal method to push my boyfriend in the “right direction”.
I brought him in the store practically every single time we would go out for a walk and made it very clearly that I already picked my gift for V day. A bit brutal I know, but hey, never get between a shopaholic and its prey! Reassured that my persuasive methods had been successful I unwrapped my present totally convinced I would find what I had been dreaming about for so long…and guess what I found instead? This adorable American Apparel skirt. All these words just to tell you that sometimes giving a blank paper to a person who wants to buy a gift can turn out to be much better than what you had in mind. Sometimes though! He commented the whole thing saying: “Sorry Cami but when I looked at it it made me think about you and I decided I’d change my plans” and at a close look, it really has the name Camilla written on itself. I jealously kept her inside my closet too, waiting for better temperatures to arrive. Finally, I got to wear it to create this romantic look in grey and cream with just a few red details given by my brand new Mimosa pumps by Not Rated dotted pumps. I loved the result. Vi e’ mai capitato di cercare di far capire disperatamente alla vostra dolce meta’ cosa vorreste ricevere come regalo (ad esempio per il vostro compleanno), cercando di usare qualsiasi mezzo affinche’ lui compri la cosa giusta cosi da evitare a voi una faccia delusa ed a lui lo straziante fardello per non aver soddisfatto la propria ragazza maniaca della shopping? Beh, lo scorso San Valentino ho fatto esattamente questo. Erano settimane che avevo messo gli occhi su un fantastico completino intimo di Victoria’s Secret, e visto che la festa degli innamorati si avvicinava ho ricorso a qualsiasi mezzo (legale e non) per “indirizzarlo” verso il “giusto” acquisto.
L’ho portato in negozio praticamente tutte le volte che uscivamo, indicandogli il “prescelto” piu’ e piu’ volte, facendogli intendere senza mezzi termini che avevo gia’ scelto il mio regalo di San Valentino e che era proprio li di fronte a lui. Un po’ brutale forse, lo ammetto. Ma mai mettersi tra una shopaholic e la sua preda! Certa che le mie tecniche di persuasione/minnacce avessero funzionato, ho aperto finalmente il pacchetto tanta bramato convinta di sapere gia’ cosa si celava al sui interno….ed invece indovinate cosa ho ricevuto? Queste fantastica gonna di American Apparel tutta tulle e fronzoli! Tutto cio’ per dirvi che molto spesso lasciare libero arbitrio alla persona che vuole regalarvi qualcosa e’ decisamente meglio di quello che in realta’ avevate in mente. A volte! Lui ha commentato il tutto dicendo: “Scusami Cami ma quando l’ho vista ho pensato a te e quindi ho cambiato idea” e a guardarla bene questa gonna porta proprio il mio nome. Ho gelosamente custodito nel mio armadio anche lei, aspettando temperature migliori per sfoggiarla, ed il risultato e’ stato un questo look romantico in grigio e beige con un tocco di rosso dato dalle mie nuovissime Mimosa pumps di Not Rated, gentile regalo del brand. Io ho amato il risultato, e voi che ne pensate?
