Black Orchid
Thursday night I had the pleasure to take part in a very exclusive event in the Meat Packing District area downtown. Once a neighborhood with slaughterhouses at every corner now the heart of the Manhattan nightlife.
The event was an annual appointment between 12 of the most important PR offices from all over the world, where fashion industry executives get together to share ideas and exchange business cards while sipping cocktails on a beautiful rooftop with a view on the Hudson River.
For the occasion, I decided to wear this lovely lace dress with very particular detail in the back by Dress The Population, a young and trendy brand I already introduced to you some time ago. I simply love the romantic and ultra-feminine style of their collection. Every piece is unique and tremendously beautiful, so make sure you check their website out. A pair of ice-colored heels, a touch of red on my lips and I am ready for a night different from the usual.
The place was wonderful and even though an open bar was available for all the guests I stuck to my old boring ginger ale, getting mesmerized by background music while staring at the beauty of the downtown sunset…I might be boring but New York never is.
Giovedi sera ho avuto il piacere di partecipare ad un evento esclusivo nella zona del Meat Packing District a downtown, un tempo quartiere popolato da macellerie e magazzini di ogni tipo adesso invece fulcro principale della vita mondana di Manhattan. L’evento in questione e’ un appuntamento annuale tra 12 piu’ importanti uffici PR del settore moda di tutto il mondo, dove personaggi della fashion industry si riuniscono per conoscersi meglio, e scambiare idee sorseggiando cocktail su un rooftop con vista sull’Hudson River. Per l’occasione ho deciso di indossare questo vestitino in pizzo dal dettaglio particolare sulla schiena ricevuto da Dress The Population, brand giovanissimo di cui vi avevo gia’ accennato qualche post fa. Adoro lo stile romantico e ultra femminile che pervade ogni capo della collezione. Un paio di tacchi ghiaccio, ed un filo di rosso sulle labbra per una serata diversa dal solito.
Il posto era incantevole e anche se compreso di open bar io mi sono limitata ad una normalissima ginger ale. In compenso pero’ mi sono goduta la musica di sottofondo mentre mi lasciavo suggestionare dal tramonto di downtown…potro’ anche essere noiosa ma New York non lo e’ mai.
