Bahamas Islands: First Day

The first place we went to visit after departing from Miami was the Bahamas Islands. We went to Nassau, the capital of the islands, which besides the beautiful beaches, it is also a very pretty nice. We even got to make a quick visit to the famous hotel where they filmed one of the many 007 movies. Cool isn’t it? Suites can only be booked for a minimum of four nights, and their prices start from $25,000 and up.

Maybe in my next life, I will consider accomodating myself in such a luxurious place in perfect “British spy” style, but meanwhile, I consoled myself by buying one of these fantastic seashells to bring back home as a souvenir. Now the only problem is figuring out where to put it in my not-too-roomy New York apartment… but I am sure I’ll find a spot for it somehow. Talking about purchase… are you guys done buying Xmas presents? I can’t wait for the 24th to arrive. I wonder what I will get this year and if there will be any “unwanted gifts”, you know, the ones you usually dislike very much but somehow you have to force yourself to accept with a big smile.

La prima tappa del mio viaggio subito dopo Miami sono state le Bahamas, per la precisione Nassau, la capitale delle isole. Oltre ad avere delle spiagge da sogno la città é davvero molto carina e abbiamo anche avuto l’occasione di visitare il famoso hotel dove hanno girato uno dei tanti 007. Pensate che un soggiorno in una delle suite dell’albergo va da un minimo di quattro notti ed i prezzi per il pernottamento partono dai venticinquemila dollari in su! Per questa volta mi sono accontentata di visitare la spiaggia, chissà che magari in una vita futura mi possa permettere anch’io un pernottamento in stile “spia inglese”.

Ad ogni modo mi sono consolata acquistando una di queste fantastiche conchiglie rosa… ancora non so dove andrò a collocarla esattamente nel mio monolocale Newyorchese ma sono sicura che in un modo o nell’altro riusciro a trovargli una sistemazione.

Parlando di acquisti last minute, avete per caso finito di comprare i regali di Natale? Io già non vedo l’ora che arrivi il 24 sera per scoprire cosa avrò ricevuto quest’anno. Chissà se tra i vari doni natalizi, ci sarà’ anche il classico “regalo sbagliato”. Quello che quando lo aprite vorreste non averlo mai fatto, ma che per educazione dovete accettare con un sorriso a trentadue denti facendo finta che vi piaccia.
